Warehouse Worker cover letter example
A warehouse cover letter has to prove three things fast: you hit your rate, you work safely, and you show up for every shift.
Opens with the matching warehouse worker resume, in the same design, so the two read as a set.
The letter, as text
Dear Mr. Castellanos,
Peak season is coming, and Riverbend Fulfillment’s posting asks for associates who can hit rate without cutting corners on safety. That is how I have worked for four years, and I am applying for the Warehouse Associate position on your second shift.
At MidSouth Distribution I pick and pack more than 1,400 units a shift at 118% of the productivity standard, with 99.9% accuracy. I operate forklift, reach truck and pallet jack, and I handle receiving and put-away as well as picking. Over three years I have had perfect attendance and zero safety incidents, and I have been named Associate of the Quarter twice.
I also help the people around me get up to speed. I train new associates on RF scanners and safe lifting so they reach rate faster and stay injury-free. Before MidSouth, at Bluff City Logistics, I loaded and unloaded 10 to 15 trailers a shift, checked every shipment against its bill of lading, and ran cycle counts with the inventory team that brought accuracy up to 99.5%.
I can work any shift, including nights, weekends and overtime during peak. I would be glad to come in for an interview or a forklift skills check whenever it suits you.
Sincerely,
Marcus Lee
Why this warehouse worker cover letter works
- Rate, accuracy and safety are covered in the first two paragraphs, which is exactly what a supervisor screens for.
- Equipment certifications are named specifically, so the reader knows the candidate can be put to work quickly.
- Attendance and recognition (Associate of the Quarter twice) prove reliability without any self-praise.
- Shift flexibility and an offer of a skills check make the close practical and easy to act on.
Tips for your own warehouse worker cover letter
- Give your units per shift or percentage of rate and your accuracy rate.
- List every piece of equipment you are certified on and your safety record.
- Say which shifts and overtime you can work, especially if you are applying before peak season.
Questions
How long should a warehouse worker cover letter be?
Three or four short paragraphs, about 250 words, never more than one page. Hiring managers skim; every sentence should add proof the resume does not already give.
Do I need a cover letter for a warehouse worker job?
Send one whenever the application allows it, unless the posting says not to. It is your chance to connect your experience to this employer’s needs, and many candidates skip it.
