Free ATS resume checker

See your resume the way an applicant tracking system does: whether it can be read, and how well it matches the job. Upload a PDF or Word file and paste the posting. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

1. Your resume

2. The job description

Results appear here as soon as you add your resume.

What this checker looks at

  • Readable text. If your PDF is an image, no ATS can read it.
  • Contact details that parsers can find — email and phone in the body of the page.
  • Standard headings such as Experience, Education and Skills.
  • Results, not duties: how many lines include numbers, and weak openers to replace.
  • Keyword match: the skills and terms the job description emphasises, and which ones your resume uses.

Questions

Is this ATS resume checker really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit. Your resume and the job description are analysed in your browser and are never uploaded.

How does it work?

It extracts the text from your resume the way an applicant tracking system would, checks for the structure parsers rely on (contact details, standard headings, readable text), and compares the terms the job description emphasises with the terms your resume uses.

Does a high score guarantee my resume passes an ATS?

No checker can promise that: every ATS is configured differently and people make the final decision. A high score means your resume is readable by parsers and uses the language of the job — the two things you control.

My PDF shows no text. Why?

It is probably a scanned image or was exported as a picture. Applicant tracking systems cannot read it either. Rebuild it in a resume builder that exports real text, like this one.
